Grand Coulee Police 12/19 - A burglar at Sunbanks Lake Resort made off with several tools from a storage shed. Entry to the shed was gained with a key, suggesting, the report stated, that the party had access to a key. The person only took tools that worked. Batteries from various vehicles were also taken. Coulee Dam police and fire officials discovered last Thursday that a resident had possibly jumped an electrical meter that had been turned off after a Dec. 5 garage fire. Town officials had turned the meter off at 415 North Columbia and requested that a licensed electrician check the residence to see if it was safe to turn electricity back on. Three days later, town officials checked the house after lights were seen on in an upstairs room and in the kitchen area. Grand Coulee Police 11/27 - A man saw someone crouched near his girlfriend’s car at a Main Street apartment and yelled at him. His girlfriend came to the door and heard a “hissing” sound and saw the man letting the air out of her tire. She chased him for about a block. Grand Coulee Police 10/24 - Two 14-year-old boys were advised that it wasn’t a good idea to carry toy rifles and pistols near the hospital and in the city. Officers explained their toys looked like real guns. The pair were advised to play with the guns at home. - Police had a report of a bicycle stolen while a boy was shopping at H&H Grocery. Second graders at Nespelem Elementary work Friday with Nespelem Valley Electric technicians, who had set up low poles and cross beams for students to experience lineman work and learn that electricity comes from more than the switch on the wall. Grand Coulee Police 6/9 - A Newman Lake man who owns two vacant houses in Electric City told officers that windows in one house had been broken, possibly by a pellet gun, and the door on the second house had been forced.
