to Meet August 11

Wenatchee Valley Erratics Chapter of the Ice Age Floods Institute will meet at 7 p.m., Tuesday, August 11, at the Wenatchee Valley Museum, 127 South Mission, Wenatchee, Washington.

The chapter is honored to have as guest speaker Vic Baker, Professor of Planetary Sciences and Geosciences, Univ. of Arizona-Tucson. In early July this year, Dr. Baker was the keynote speaker at an international geomorphology conference held in Barnaul, Siberia, that concerned ice-age megaflooding. His talk to us, “Ice-Age Megaflooding in Eurasia,” stems from that conference. With five decades of Ice Age Floods research, especially in central and eastern Washington, Dr. Baker is one of the leading experts on this subject, and a great story teller. Don’t miss this one! The program is free and open to the public. For an overview of the Ice Age Floods, please see http://hugefloods.com and http://iceagefloods.blogspot.com.
