    Grand Coulee Police 4/25 - A woman living on Division Street told police that someone hit her vehicle while it was parked near the police department, causing over $700 in damages. 4/28 - USBR Plant Protection advised an officer that a truck was in the lower Visitor Center parking lot at Grand Coulee Dam and had gone through Station 4’s check point and then later went to Station 3.     A video has been posted on Youtube of a man being arrested after fishing in a restricted area below Grand Coulee Dam and allegedly resisting arrest. The Wilbur man's arrest was the subject of a police reports brief in the April 30 Coulee Cops.     Susan Dechant walked Coulee Dam council last Wednesday night through the intriguing tale of a monument lost and a new one proposed. Lost for non-payment was a monument erected in 1938 along the then main road in Delano to honor workers who died during construction of Grand Coulee Dam. The bill on the American Legion monument, some $1,750, Dechant noted, wasn’t promptly paid and the Legion asked for more time. That was granted by the Colville monument maker.     Bert lived a full, active life filled with family and friends. He was known for his gregarious friendly nature; speaking to everyone he met, judging none. He was a devoted husband and father.     The all-new laser light show on the face of Grand Coulee Dam, will debut May 24, Bureau of Reclamation officials stated. It replaces the original show developed in 1989 at a cost of $791,806. The new show, was created under a $1.6 million contract, by LumaLaser of Eugene, Oregon, and guided by a stakeholders group made up of interest groups that benefit from the dam and Columbia Basin Project.     The seniors accept aluminum cans ONLY. Please do not put cardboard, plastic bottles or other aluminum in the collection sacks. In 2013, the Seniors collected 3800 pounds (almost 2 tons) of cans and took in approximately $1500 for the Senior Center. That is approximately 30 cans for everyone in the Grand Coulee Dam area. The program helps keep the doors open at the Seniors and keeps the cans out of the landfills.     Lake Roosevelt’s gym will survive the wrecker’s ball, and it may take on a new appearance. It all depends on what funds are left over after the Grand Coulee Dam School District completes its new K-12 facility, due to open Sept. 15.     The chamber of commerce is after more advertising money with which to fund an ad campaign to boost sagging tourism numbers. Grand Coulee Dam Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Peggy Nevsimal appeared before the Regional Board of Mayors at their last meeting and appealed for added help in drawing visitors to the area. Nevsimal told mayors that tourism was down at Grand Coulee Dam last year by about 48,000 visitors, or 10 percent.     Two furniture manufacturers have been awarded contracts for the new school facility in Coulee Dam, officials announced. Virco, a California firm, was awarded a $469,156 contract to provide furniture for classrooms in the K-12 facility.
