Kathleen Audrey Wallace, 96, passed away at home on March 18, 2026, with her loving family by her side. She was born to Maurice and Doris Galpine on February 18, 1930, in Seattle, Washington.
Kathleen was an incredible self-taught pianist starting at the early age of 5 years old. Her music was her passion, and she shared it with all throughout her life. Kathleen's early education and high school graduation took place in Seattle, WA. In her younger life she worked as a checker for Safeway, however after being hired at H&R Block Tax Preparation she discovered a love for numbers. This love of numbers took her to opening her own tax preparation business in Bellevue, WA and then continued when she moved here to Grand Coulee, WA. She happily served as a Tax Preparation Specialist until the young age of 93! She loved her community and spent twenty plus years assisting many good folks at the Grand Coulee Dam Senior Center.
Kathleen is survived by her son Michael (Marti) Mauhl, daughters Susan Cannon, Janis Tate, Sharon (Lee) Button. She is also survived by her brother David Galpine, grandsons Tony Johnsen, Mark Johnson, Kyle Mauhl, Aaron (Danielle) Littlejohn and Matthew (Jim) Butler, granddaughter EmmaLee (Ted) Button, greatgrandchildren Lucas Button & Alex K Button along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert Wallace, two sisters Joyce Beach & Barbara Thayer, and her grandson Alex Johnsen.
Kathleen's Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 11:00 am at the Nazarene Church in Grand Coulee, WA. In lieu of flowers please make your donation to the Grand Coulee
