    Grand Coulee Police 3/22 - Safeway advised the police that there had been a vehicle prowl in its parking lot. A woman said that someone had taken prescriptions. The woman’s husband said the vehicle was locked and there was no way anyone could have gotten into the vehicle.     Grand Coulee 3/13 - A clerk at Safeway reported to police that he saw a man come into the store and take a bottle of vodka and leave the store without paying for it. He pursued the man out of the store but he sped away. The man was known to the clerk who gave his name to police. – Police were advised of a suicidal subject sitting outside Coulee Medical Center who refused to come inside.     Supporting the bigger picture Electric City’s council agreed to support the work of the Grant County Economic Development Council and voted $500 in support of the group’s work. The agreement is through Dec. 31. A lot of sludge Electric City has hauled about eight tons of sludge from its arsenic treatment plant to the Grant County Landfill in Ephrata so far this year. Public works director Ken Dexter said about 24 additional tons of sludge are ready to be hauled to the landfill. The sludge comes from cleaning out a large arsenic treatment tan... Full story

    Grand Coulee 3/5 - A woman told police that she had been advised by the IRS that someone had tried to access her account and gain her tax refund. 3/9 - A man on Hill Avenue reported a suspicious man taking pictures near his house. He told police that someone has been trying to get into his house and he thought the man might be casing his place.     Two teenagers were killed and a third injured in Coulee City Friday night when the car they were in left the road and hit a light pole at the city park. The driver, Auston Frye, 17, of Hartline; and a passenger, Pedro Huitron, 18, of Lind, died in the crash that occurred about 8:30, the Washington State Patrol reported.     Coulee Medical Center managed to show a slim profit in January, following months of losses, mostly due to downward adjustments in the amounts due from Medicaid in 2014. CMC’s financial statements for January showed a $1,351 gain on the bottom line. “I’m the happiest person in the world to say that,” Chief Executive Officer Debbie Bigelow told the hospital district’s commissioners Monday night.
