    Grand Coulee Police 7/30 - USBR’s Plant Protection requested that police use their explosives-detecting dog to aid in the search of a Canadian truck making a delivery. Nothing was found. 7/31 - Police responded to an incident in which a 2-year-old child had suffered a broken wrist. Police were called by an emergency room doctor who said the break would not occur from a fall by a 2-year-old.   • A lot of bull planned for Aug. 15

    There’s a whole lot of bull going on. And they are coming to Grand Coulee Aug. 15 for the Ridge Riders’ bull riding event. Sorrel Katich will provide about 36 bulls for the one-night event, stock from his ranch south of Keller. Katich said Tuesday that he would supply 30 long-round bulls and six short-round bulls. The difference is that the short-round bulls have a better record of discarding their riders. “Make no mistake,” Katich said, “all of the bulls do a pretty good job of bucking off their riders.” The mid-week event is a test to see... Full story

    Grand Coulee 7/23 - A Hoquiam, Wash., driver was stopped for having expired license tabs. When informed why he was stopped he said, “no way” and got out to see for himself. He said the vehicle belonged to his daughter. He received a $216 citation. - USBR Plant Protection told police that there was a suspicious person behind the administration area.     With “We Serve” still its motto, the Grand Coulee Dam Lions Club club starting its 78th year with new challenges and new ideas. Rod Loch, of Coulee Dam has taken over the reins of the club this year, with John Nordine of Electric City as vice-president. They have accepted the challenge to lead this club into the future. Membership has been greatly reduced the past couple years for several reasons, and are looking forward to increasing the membership.     Grand Coulee Police 7/15 - Officer Dan Holland responded to a Regional Tactical Response Team call in Moses Lake and assisted in serving a search warrant for an armed gang member. The man was also known to be an illegal immigrant. Police found a woman in the house, but the man was not there. - Police were informed that a woman had a 9mm gun and planned to shoot someone.     Author Bruce Bjornstad will be present for a book signing at the Dry Falls Visitor Center, Saturday, July 28, from 3-4 p.m., of his latest book “On the Trail of the Ice Age Floods.” This is an expanded edition to include the northern reaches.     Grand Coulee Police 7/9 - An Electric City man told police he tried to sell his BMW via the Internet and got a response from England. He was asked to send $1,500 for shipping and later found out it was a scam. He stated that the people were still corresponding with him and asking him to place more money in the shipping account. - Police received a report that a small Chihuahua was at large in the Hill Street area in Grand Coulee and that when the reporting party tried to pick the dog up, the dog tried to bite.
