A workshop for students who plan to start classes at Big Bend Community College in January of 2014, will be held Sept. 10, in the BBCC library. “Some students are not prepared or unaware of the process to get started,” said Rita Ramirez, BBCC Coordinator of Student Recruitment and Outreach. “This workshop will help potential students understand the process and prepare them to enroll winter quarter.” BBCC’s enrollment is historically high in winter because so many people in the area work in agriculture during the fall. Grand Coulee Police 8/27 - A woman told police that a man about 18 years old and riding a kid’s bicycle stopped to ask her if she had recently had a death in the family. The incident occurred when she was walking home to Jackson Street in Electric City after being at a bar. Seniors will soon find out if two is better than one. Friday, seniors received their second 14-passenger bus from People to People, a 2005 version, which will help serve the needs of local seniors. The Grand Coulee Dam Senior Center recently received their first bus, gifted from the People to People program. Already, seniors, once a month for $15, can catch the bus to Spokane for medical or shopping needs. July 27, 2013 – The Keller Community Club hosted the Annual Keller Play Day, at the Keller Rodeo Grounds.
