Bert Best passed away peacefully in Coulee Medical Center in Grand Coulee, Washington on Sunday, January 9, 2022. He was born to George and Lillian Best. He was 89 years old and lived a fulfilling life. He was in the Navy four years, a crewmember on the P2V Neptune aircraft. He was a veteran of the Korean War. While out on leave he met the love of his life, Shirley Mae McCullough. They married August 10, 1953, at Douglas Park in Coulee Dam, Washington. They had a wonderful 59 years together and had four children: Vicki, Jeff, Sherri and Sandy; with 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Bert had many trades: rock masoner, Anaconda Aluminum Plant in Columbia Falls, Montana, carpenter, janitor, logger in Laclede, Idaho, sawmill worker in Bake City, Oregon and wood carver.

There will be a gathering a Spring Canyon Cemetery in Grand Coulee on Tuesday, March 15 at noon.
