Kathy Kay Pierce of Spokane Washington, left us on May 25, 2020, after an eight-year battle with Lupus. Kathy was born on January 23, 1950, in Spokane, during a very severe winter storm.

Kathy's early years were spent riding her horse "Little Joe" with several of her friends, swimming in Banks Lake and babysitting several families' young children.

Kathy graduated from Grand Coulee High School in 1968. After graduation, she attended Beauty School in Spokane. Upon graduation, she worked in the Davenport Hotel Beauty Salon for a number of years. Upon leaving work as a beautician, she went to work for Courtesy Communications where she worked for several years. Due to her high work ethic she was hired by American Sign Company, a national company to be a liaison person for this company. After many years working in the communications field, she went back to work as a beautician. During this time she worked independently. Her clients were mostly elderly ladies that were no longer able to leave their homes. She developed many lasting relationships with these ladies as well as their families.

Kathy married Sam Pierce at Leavenworth, Washington, and they made their home in Spokane.

Kathy loved the time that she and Sam spent on their boat cruising the lakes of the northwest. She loved to travel and enjoyed the several cruises that they took.

Kathy leaves behind her husband, Sam Pierce (Spokane); sister, Beverly McLean(Coulee City); nieces: Deanna Rice (Wayne) (Grand Coulee), Linda McLean (Dean) (Coulee City); great-nephews: Lee McLean (Vanessa)(Coulee City), Sam Rice (Akaycia) (Wilbur), great-nieces: Cheyenne Rocha(Jose) (Moses Lake) and Emily Rice (Denver ,Colo.).
