Willis Lee Schrock of Electric City, Washington passed peacefully on September 10, 2025. He was 83 years old.
Willis was born May 18th, 1942, to Joe and Ethel Schrock of Hartline, Wa. He graduated from high school in Hartline before enlisting in the United States Army, where he served his country proudly while stationed in California and Washington.
Willis was a lifelong dryland wheat farmer and an avid collector. He could often be found at equipment and farm auctions with his friends Dave and Terry. He also couldn't pass up a good yard sale! When he wasn't farming, Willis still loved being outdoors, whether he was trail riding on his horses and mules or out hunting. He was particularly proud of one hunting season where he snagged two trophies: a big horn sheep and a mountain goat in the same year!
Willis was well known in his community. He had a big heart and was generous with his time, always willing to lend a hand to a neighbor in need (or just to share a chat!) Willis often entertained his family and friends with stories about cryptids, outdoor adventures, and his younger years.
Willis is survived by his wife of 50 years: Carleta; his step-children Shani Easterday (Cully) and Chris Ayling (Donna); his son Kit Durnil (Janet) and his daughter Amy; his siblings Joby, Cathy, and Mary; his grandchildren Jesse Ayling (Aubrey), Bradley Ayling (Krystal), Baylee Easterday, and Hannah Easterday; and finally four great-grandchildren.
Willis's family and friends will miss his truly unique sense of humor and kind spirit. Per his wishes there will be no funeral, but the family will host a celebration of life at a later date.
