Gerold Lee Carden "Gary"

Gerold "Gary" Lee Carden born November 18, 1950 in Omak, Wa to Robert "Bob" Carden and Doreen Stanger Carden. Gary has 6 sisters and 1 brother, Laverne "Bobbi" Steele, Bobbie (Krist) Baldoz, Carol (Jerry-deceased) Vining, Linda (John-deceased) Wilhelm, Phyllis Carden, Sonia Stanger, and Chester Carden (deceased). He also had 2 sons John Carden (deceased) and Dylan Weed.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Doreen, his sister Laverne "Bobbi" Steele and brother Chester "Chet" Carden, his son John Carden and baby granddaughter.

He joined the US Marine Corps at the age of 17. He served in the Marine Corps from February 1970 thru September 1980. While in the Marine Corps he was a Military Police Officer, Shore Patrol and worked on helicopters that came in from Vietnam. He was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps and moved to Nespelem, Wa.

He worked for the Colville Tribal Police Department as a Detective Sergeant from November 1980 thru November 1992 and Patrol Sergeant from January 1993 thru September 1993. He then worked for Mill Bay Casino as the Assistant Security Manager from May 1994 thru July 1995, then as Security Manager from November 1995 thru September 2003. In September 2003 he became the TGA Field Supervisor until October 2004. He then became Lieutenant for Colville Tribal Corrections from May 2005 thru November 2020. He worked at Coulee Dam Casino as Security/Supervisor from 2021 – 2023.

On October 19, 2024 he married his sweetheart, Linda Palmer!

Gary was diagnosed January 2023 with Lung Cancer. He lost his battle with cancer on Wednesday September 17, 2025 @ 3:28 am surrounded by his sweetheart Linda, stepdaughter Rhonda and sister-in-law Peggy.
