Virgil "Roy" Moon

Virgil "Roy" Moon, 79, passed away Friday evening, April 10, 2020, in East Wenatchee, Washington, with his family by his side.  Roy entered this world on Friday, June 14, 1940, in Fortuna, California, to the home of James J. and Margaret Moon.  A proud member of the Bear River Nation, following high school, Roy joined the US Army, serving in Germany and receiving an honorable discharge in October 1964.  On Friday, November 27, 1970, Virgil R. Moon's life changed forever when he married Jeannie Redthunder in Tacoma, Washington.  An electrician by trade, Roy retired from the USBR in Grand Coulee, Washington in 1995 as a Journeyman.  A member of the VFW, Roy never stood still - whether working, traveling, playing at the casino or cheering on his favorite team - The San Diego Chargers

Predeceased by his soul-mate and loving wife of 42 years, Jeannie Redthunder-Moon on July 25, 2013; both of his parents; sister, Geraldine "Dolly" Riveria; granddaughter, Diana Adolph; beloved in-laws, Joe and Lucy Redthunder, Joanne Redthunder, Ken Redthunder, Morris Redthunder and Norman "Dee" Redthunder; Virgil will be greatly missed by his children: Ronald J. Moon, Roy J. Moon (Jessica), Aletha Heath (Ken) and Luanna Francis; grandchildren: Eren Moon, Ryan Moon, Lexi Moon, Cedar Moon, Joseph Moon, Levi Joseph, Anthony Adolph and Justin Francis; great-grandchildren: Leland and Jada Adolph, Destiny, Anquan and Talise Adolph and Majik Francis; brothers: Wayne and Arthur Moon; sister-in-law: Dorothy Redthunder; brothers-in-law: Keith "Soy" Redthunder, Wilferd "Sabe" Redthunder and Jackson Redthunder and numerous nephews and nieces.


 A private family dressing was held at Strate Funeral Home of Grand Coulee, Washington.  At his request cremation has taken place with a private family burial in Spring Canyon Cemetery, Grand Coulee, Washington. Due to the current Covid-19 directives, no further services are scheduled at this time.
