    Raider wrestlers competed in the Brewster mixer and the Warden tournament this past week, as well as sending their female wrestler to Springdale for a girls’ wrestling event. Ida Sue went to Springdale Jan. 5, going 2-1 against her opponents. She pinned a West Valley wrestler, got pinned by a Quincy wrestler, but then pinned another Quincy opponent. “It was a good outing for her,” Lake Roosevelt Head Coach Steve Hood said.     The Lady Raiders chalked up two more in the win column this past week, defeating both the Bridgeport Fillies as well as the Waterville Lady Shockers.     This past week, Raider wrestlers held their annual Powerhouse Tournament at home before attending the Banks Lake Brawl in Coulee City. Raiders nabbed a lot of firsts at the events, in addition to their other placings. At the Powerhouse Tournament on Dec. 28, first-place spots went to Lake Roosevelt's Jon Shelley, wrestling at the 113-120-pound weight class; Kaleb Horn at 138; Tony Nichols at 152; and Ida Sue in the girls' division.     The Lake Roosevelt Raiders and Lady Raiders traveled to Spokane Valley to compete in the Eagles Holiday Classic Dec. 28-29 to get some non-league competition over winter break, but neither LR team nabbed a win. The Raider boys lost 43-32 to East Valley High School Dec. 28 before losing 43-36 to Riverside High School the next day.     The Lady Raiders beat the Fillies by 50 with a final score of 73-23 before the Raiders pulled off a comeback victory in overtime against the Mustangs 77-74. These videos show Kayla St. Pierre with a steal and a layup, drawing the foul (she made the free throw), and Trevor McCraigie hitting a big three in overtime to go up 77-74, leaving only a few seconds left on the clock which Bridgeport wasn't able to do anything with.     The Raiders defeated the Trojans in the final seconds at home before losing to the Tigers in Tonasket last week. Hosting the Manson Trojans on Dec. 12, the Raiders maintained a lead but almost lost the game in the fourth quarter.     The Lady Raiders beat Manson at home before losing to Tonasket on the road last week. Against Manson on Dec. 12, the Lady Raiders led the entire game, by 28-17 at the half, and finished with a final score of 51-33. Head Coach Wallace Pleasants was happy with his team's performance both on offense and defense.     Raider wrestlers took part in the Oroville Mixer and the Cashmere Invite this past week. Fewer wrestlers attended these events than usual due to winter sickness and holidays, but those who did gained experience nonetheless. Lake Roosevelt’s wrestlers went to Oroville Dec. 13 for their mixer, where Raiders won seven out of their 18 total matches.     The Lady Raiders basketball team used a can of Raid on the Hornets on Saturday, decimating them 63-22. LR outscored Oroville 27-14 in the first half of the game, then dominated the third quarter, putting up 22 points, while only allowing one free-throw Hornet point, to lead 49-15 at the start of the fourth.     The Raiders and Lady Raiders played in a jamboree on Nov. 28 at home, hosting teams from Inchelium and Wilbur-Creston-Keller.
