The Lady Raiders beat Manson at home before losing to Tonasket on the road last week.

Against Manson on Dec. 12, the Lady Raiders led the entire game, by 28-17 at the half, and finished with a final score of 51-33.

Head Coach Wallace Pleasants was happy with his team's performance both on offense and defense.

About the defense, Pleasants said they excelled at "staying focused, moving our feet, rotating, all those little things that we need."

Offensively, Pleasants said, they had "good ball movement, attacking downhill, as we call it. Fairly balanced scoring, this is what we look for."

Pleasants noted that having a different lineup forced them to do things a bit differently, utilizing their secret "Superman" technique.

"Kayla St. Pierre - she put in work," Pleasants noted of the team captain's performance.

In Tonasket on Thursday, the girls lost a close one to the Lady Tigers, 41-39.

"It's hard to win games when you are shooting around 20 percent from the field and have over 20 turnovers in a game," Pleasants said. "We need to make shots and value the basketball."

The Lady Raiders made only 11 of 54 shots from the field, including two of 21 from the three-point line, and had 25 turnovers.

Now on winter break, the Lady Raiders' next game will be in the Eagles Holiday Classic in Spokane at West Valley High School, where they are scheduled to play at 9 a.m. on Dec. 28.
