    Brittania Giuliani, of Almira, has been selected as a finalist in the National American Miss Washington State Pageant. At 15, she will compete in the Junior Teen Division at the 2014 Miss Washington Junior Teen Pageant in Tacoma, August 8-10. The winner of this competition will represent the state of Washington for the final selection of National American Miss Washington in California at Hollywood and Disneyland.     Charles Bond is returning from his mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Lisbon, Portugal mission on April 15. Charles, the son of Helen and Bob Bond of Coulee Dam, is a graduate from Lake Roosevelt High school. While serving his 2-year mission, Charles represented the LDS Church as a missionary to teach the people of Portugal (mainland and the Azores Islands) in their own language and provide service to them.     U.S. Air Force Airman Joshua S. Fountain has graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio.     Sheila and Derlyn Brown are leaving on March 17, to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They will be serving in Cove Fort , Utah, one of the last remaining historical way station for travelers. Cove Fort is located near Zion National Park and the town of St George.     Dr. Nicholas A. Donaghey has joined the Gillespie Eye Care team as the primary optometrist at its Grand Coulee location, 407 Burdin Boulevard. Donaghey received his bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas and his doctorate from the Ohio State University. The eye care practice, which also has offices in Quincy and Brewster, has recently gone through a complete refurbishment, including fixtures and technical equipment.     Felix and Elizabeth "Liz" Marcolin celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary with a 10-day trip to Germany in December with their daughters Kathy and Kerin, Kerin's husband Steffen, and their three children. Much of their visit centered around the home of Steffen's parents, Horst and Anneliese Ludwig, in Saint Julian, Rheinland-Pfalz.     Alissa Mansker, Grand Coulee, has been awarded a $5,000 New Horizons scholarship by Royal Neighbors of America, the organization announced last week. A one-time payment will be made to her college of choice and will be used to help fund tuition, room and board, and books.
