The dog has been running loose multiple times, and an officer saw it take an aggressive posture and bark at him, then seem to calm down when he called it by name.     Rod Broadnax will remain the superintendent of the Grand Coulee Dam School District for another three years following an offer by the school board Monday to extend his contract. Broadnax accepted the offer, which included a lift in pay from $142,000 a year to $160,000, plus cost-of-living increases.     North Central Washington residents checked out, downloaded and streamed more than 1.4 million books, movies, and other materials from NCW Libraries in 2023.     Grand Coulee Police 12/27 -The city clerk told police that someone claiming they were a city official told Grant PUD that trees on Partello Parkway needed trimming or to be cut down for the beautification of Grand Coulee. Police spoke to a PUD employee who explained that the PUD does trim and cut trees that have been trimmed before and that these trees did need to be trimmed again. He was later screaming and using abusive language inside a Chevron gas station because of the way a patron looked at him because of the screaming, causing the other patron to leave to the parking lot, followed by the man, telling him to leave him alone, and considering pulling out his firearm because he felt threatened.     Kathryn I. Burke will take the bench of Okanogan County Superior Court after longtime Judge Henry A. Rawson retires Dec. 31. Burke’s appointment was announced by Gov. Jay Inslee Nov. 30. The Okanogan County native currently serves as the elected prosecuting attorney for Ferry County, a position she has held since 2015.
