The Inland Northwest Blood Center along with the Grand Coulee Community Blood Drive volunteers will be hold a community blood drive Monday. September 26, from 11:30 am. – 5 p.m. at the community room at Coulee Medical Center in Grand Coulee. Coordinating the event is Sommer Hicks. Inland Northwest blood Center needs an average of 200 blood donors every day to meet the needs of more than 35 hospitals in the Inland Northwest. Grand Coulee Dam Area residents may dispose of household hazardous waste for free on Friday, September 9, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Delano Regional Transfer Station. Only hazardous waste generated by households will be accepted. Hazardous products have labels with words such as warning, danger, caustic, flammable, and poison. Grand Coulee Police 8/29 - A resident in Grand Coulee reported that a suspicious man had been in their yard and also looked into the window of a neighbor. The complainant asked police that he be permanently banned from the property. A golf ball drop fundraiser Saturday at Banks Lake Golf Course netted the course $1,050, and provided prize money for three whose numbered balls fell closest to the pin. The 300 golf balls were dropped from a truck with a bucket from about 15 feet. The three closest balls were determined after Birdie Hensley measured the distances of the winning balls. Grand Coulee 8/18 - Two residents on Second Street in Electric City were arrested after Lincoln County officials served a search warrant for the house. Deputies were led to the house after viewing security cameras at storage units in Lincoln County. Officials found a number of items taken from the storage units. Grand Coulee Police 7/28 - An employee at Coulee Gas reported they had found several 5-gallon grease cans in their dumpster. The cans had a label of a firm in Omak on them.
