Long-time Grand Coulee resident artist Keith Powell stands with some of his work at his new gallery in Spokane during its opening event last Friday night at 123 East Second Avenue. Powell said he'll open the gallery for events and by appointment, but will still be creating his art in Grand Coulee. Grand Coulee Police 10/17 - Police checked on a complaint of a barking dog at a house on E. Grand Coulee Avenue. The officer tried to contact the owner of the dog, but no one was home. Workers install a chain link fence around the perimeter of the school district's bus area to keep fuel thieves away from the buses. There has been a rash of incidents where fuel thieves have cut fuels line to steal gas. The chain link fence area is being erected to protect district buses from having their gas lines cut. Grand Coulee Police 10/6 - An Electric City man told police that he wanted to get a no-contact court order against his father after having a dispute with him over a trailer. - Police responded to a suicidal call at a West Grand Avenue residence and talked to a woman who said she intended to harm herself. Grand Coulee Police 9/29 - Owners of dogs at a Hill Avenue location, including a man who shot a dog with an airsoft gun to scare it away since his dog was in heat, were advised by an officer that if they didn’t get licenses for the animals within a week they would all be cited.
