Grand Coulee Police 6/30 - While cleaning out a vehicle at Jack’s Four Corners, a worker found what he thought was a controlled substance and called the police. Since the vehicle had been involved in a weapons offense, the material was held for a Grant County Sheriff officer. - A man and a woman were arrested after an incident on Kelso Avenue in Electric City. In the rocky hills above Lake Roosevelt last Thursday, some 25 chamber of commerce members got to experience the dream farm of members Merv and Mary Jo Monteith. At their Spring Canyon Alpacas and D&M Gardens, they were introduced to the couple's Alpaca herd, about 30 in number, and got a special introduction to a 3-week-old newcomer to the farm. The town council at Coulee Dam approved a budget amendment ordinance last Wednesday night that will provide the chamber of commerce $6,000 for a media campaign to promote the new Laser Light Show on Grand Coulee Dam. The chamber of commerce is getting additional money from hotel/motel tax funds to promote the all-new Laser Light Show on Grand Coulee Dam, which will begin May 24. The chamber had asked the three cities that collect the tax, Electric City, Grand Coulee and Coulee Dam, to provide $6,000 each so it could make a media buy promoting the show in the Seattle area. Nutt, Barbara Ann Meyer and Roberta "Birdie" Hensley. The five have all made a number of contributions to community life here.
