Three Raider wrestlers participated at the state's Mat Classic XXIX in Tacoma this past weekend where all three placed, including Kaleb Horn, who is the first Lake Roosevelt sophomore to win a state championship, and the 11th state champion in school history. An after-school program in place at Lake Roosevelt is hoping to recruit more volunteers to help enrich kids' understanding of the world and be better prepared to face it as they get older. The SHARP Kids program, which stands for "Safe, Honest, Aware, Respectful, and Present," is in its 13th year, with around 120 kids of all ages involved. The Liberty Bell Mountain Lions held an impromptu slumber party in the Lake Roosevelt gym last Tuesday after their basketball game with the Raiders, due to the ice storm that night. The Brewster Mix & Match is without brackets and team points, but is rather an opportunity for wrestlers to gain experience. The Raiders hosted wrestlers from eight other schools last Wednesday in the 14th annual Powerhouse Tournament. The Raiders took third with 111.5 points, behind Omak's 114 and Warden's 134.
