The Lake Roosevelt Raiders used patience at the plate and aggressive baserunning to roll past Okanogan 24–4 in a league game Tuesday.
The Raiders finished with nine hits but did most of their damage by drawing 16 walks and striking out just once, constantly putting runners on base in a three-inning, run-rule shortened contest.
Ashlyn Sam and Ayamae Batten-Bob each scored four runs to lead Lake Roosevelt, while Cambry Brown set the tone at the top of the lineup with three runs, three walks and four stolen bases.
Shae Crollard went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, and both Juel Swager and Paisley Fury-Smith added two hits and three runs apiece. Swager, Fury-Smith and Crollard each doubled as part of the Raiders’ balanced attack.
Lake Roosevelt was active on the bases throughout, with Fury-Smith swiping three bags and Taloulah Tonasket adding two.
Sam earned the win in the circle, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits over three innings, with two walks.
The Raiders (6-1, 7-3) will face Okanogan (2-3, 3-9) again on the road Thursday afternoon before returning home to host Tonasket (7-1, 8-4) in a Friday doubleheader that could see the two teams switching first and second place in league.
