Lake Roosevelt Raiders roll past  Liberty Bell behind 23-hit outburst

The Lake Roosevelt Lady Raiders opened at home in dominant fashion Wednesday, piling up 23 hits in a 17-2 win over Liberty Bell in Grand Coulee.

Lake Roosevelt wasted no time taking control, scoring five runs in each of the first two innings to put the game out of reach early.

Cambry Brown set the tone at the top of the lineup, going 4-for-4 with three runs scored. Ayamea Batten-Bob added a strong performance with four hits, a run driven in and three runs scored.

Shae Crollard delivered one of the biggest offensive efforts of the day, finishing 4-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs scored, while Paisley Fury-Smith added three hits and drove in three runs.

Additional contributions came throughout the lineup, with Katelyn Manuel collecting two hits and an RBI, Juel Swager adding two hits and a run driven in, and Phenyx Marchand scoring once and adding a hit.

Lake Roosevelt also showed extra-base power, with Fury-Smith recording two doubles, Crollard and Marchand each adding doubles, and Zaley Laramie tripling.

In the circle, Laramie was dominant, throwing three scoreless innings while striking out seven. Ashlyn Sam worked in relief, striking out three as the Raiders limited Liberty Bell to two runs.

The Raiders finished with 12 RBIs and played solid defense behind their pitchers, committing just one error.

With contributions across the lineup, including McKenzie Cox, Shasta Horton and Taloulah Tonasket, Lake Roosevelt showed both depth and balance in its season outing.

The Lady Raiders will look to build on that momentum as they host the Cascade Kodiaks for Saturday’s doubleheader starting at 11 a.m. Cascade, a larger 1A program in the Caribou Trail league, could provide a step up in competition for the 2B Raiders, but it might turn out to be the other way aroun
