Our beautiful mom, Amy Lou Mahoney passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at the age of 82, at the Vista Manor Assisted Living Facility in Wilbur, Washington. She was an amazing wife, mom, grandma, great grandma, sister, aunt and friend. She was a fiery red head who was lively, fun, full of spirit, quick to smile and slow to anger. She would do anything for her family and friends.

Amy was born in Beaumont, Texas on March 11, 1939, to Lula Beatrice Dewil Ewbank and Francis Maunde Lawrence Ewbank. Her father passed away from a work-related accident right before she was born. She grew up in the Masonic Home for Children in Alexandria, Louisiana, where she attended local schools before leaving the home at the age of 17 and moving to California. She graduated from Polytechnic High School in Long Beach, California, in June of 1957. She married the love of her life, David J. Mahoney on December 18, 1971, and they joined their two families together. In 1977, they moved from California to Electric City, WA\ashington.

Amy worked for the Grand Coulee Dam School District as the Payroll Clerk for 24 years before retiring in June of 2004. One of her favorite things to do was spending time with her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids, and loved when they came to visit her. She loved going to yard sales, decorating her home, gardening, attending plays, singing, dancing and was an avid reader. One of the main joys in her life was giving to her family.

Amy is survived by her daughters: Dawn (Paul) Furman, Debbie (Dale) Sorenson and Donna (Mark) Dyson, and her sons: Chuck (Joni) Mahoney, David (Gail) Mahoney, Mark (Rochelle) Mahoney and Jim (Kimberly) Mahoney. She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Amy was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, David J. Mahoney; her parents, Francis Maunde Lawrence Ewbank and Lula Beatrice Dewil Ewbank; her brothers: Frank Ewbank and Edward Ewbank; and her sisters: Margaret Ennis and Brenda Fernandez.

The family would like to thank the amazing staff at the Wilbur Washington Vista Manor Assisted Living Facility for the loving care and friendship they provided to our mom. We would also like to thank Assured Hospice of Moses Lake, Washington, for their amazing care and compassion.
