T-Mobile restored service to its text and voice plans across the country Monday night.

CEO Mike Sievert posted the following on the company's website at 8:45 p.m., then announced at just after 10 p.m. that service was fully restored:

"This is an IP traffic related issue that has created significant capacity issues in the network core throughout the day. Data services have been working throughout the day and customers have been using services like FaceTime, iMessage, Google Meet, Google Duo, Zoom, Skype and others to connect.

I can assure you that we have hundreds of our engineers and vendor partner staff working to resolve this issue and our team will be working through the night as needed to get the network fully operational."

A major mobile phone carrier is out of service today.

T-Mobile's network appears to be down practically nationwide.

This is affecting the local area too.

We'll note here that The Star has been partially relying on our T-Mobile connections, passing through our landline phone calls to our cell phones when we're not in the office.

A recording received at a support number for businesses says the company is having technical issues and they're working on it.

President of Technology said on Twitter this afternoon, "Our engineers are working to resolve a voice and data issue that has been affecting customers around the country. We're sorry for the inconvenience and hope to have this fixed shortly."
