Clayton Eugene Ross Fields

April 28, 1985 – April 21, 2025

Clayton Eugene Ross Fields, age 39, of Electric City, Washington, passed away on April 21, 2025, just one week shy of his 40th birthday.

Clayton was born on April 28, 1985, and from an early age, his deep curiosity and passion for history, especially World War I and World War II, was evident. He could speak at length about battles, leaders, and equipment with remarkable insight and accuracy. That same passion extended to his hobbies-he was a proud gun enthusiast and collector who loved attending gun shows and sharing knowledge with fellow collectors.

Professionally, Clayton was a dedicated truck driver, driving for Walmart. He primarily drove routes throughout Washington, Idaho, and Oregon, though he occasionally took trips beyond the region when something piqued his interest.

Clayton had a deep love for classic military vehicles, and his heart belonged to one in particular-his 1948 Jeep Willys. He poured countless hours into restoring it with care and precision, turning it into a tribute to the era he admired so much.

He was also an avid hunter. One of his most treasured traditions was hunting in the Colockum with his father-a bond that was as meaningful as the hunt itself.

Clayton was preceded in death by his mother, Melinda Fields, whom he loved dearly. He is survived by his father, Gene Fields; his sister, Jillian Coffey (Rich), and nephews Caleb and Wyatt; and his sister, Aubree Bammer and nephews Dennis and Dylan, all of whom will deeply miss his unfiltered honesty, loyal heart, and sharp wit.

Clayton wasn't always easy to get close to, but he was genuine to the core-straightforward and independent. Those who truly knew him understood that beneath his tough exterior was a quiet appreciation for the simple things: family, a good rifle, and time spent outdoors.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Grand Coulee Dam Senior Center.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Clayton's memory to the Grand Coulee Dam Area Senior Center.
