The Raiders won their third shutout in a row, winning 46-0 against the Liberty Bell Mountain Lions at home in Coulee Dam on Friday.

The Raiders had won 44-0 in week one of the regular season against the Okanogan JV team, and 48-0 against Tonasket the following week.

Under the Friday night lights against the Mountain Lions, things went the Raiders' way from start to finish.

On fourth down in the first quarter, quarterback Steven Flowers completed a 22-yard touchdown pass to Darin Whiteman.

Tony Nichols picked off a pass after the Mountain Lions took over on the following drive.

Raider quarterback Hunter Whitelaw threw to Kaleb Horn for another touchdown in the second quarter.

And Steven Flowers returned a punt 50 yards for the touchdown to finish the first half with a score of 27-0.

The second half continued where the first left off, with the Raiders scoring 13 in the third quarter, and six in the fourth.

"Overall, we played a pretty solid game," said Coach Tim Rasmussen. "Our defense was key in taking away what they want to do. We were pretty physical and were able to come out and just rely on our experience and our aggressiveness on defense. That helps set the tone."

"We had good special teams play again this week," Rasmussen continued. "That seems to be our recipe right now, and catapults us in all phases."

"Tony Nichols had a heck of a football game," Rasmussen said about the senior athlete. "He does all the little things that nobody knows. He's one of our anchors out there."

"Hunter did a fantastic job at stepping up and playing quarterback," Rasmussen continued. "We threw the ball to a bunch of different people, which is good. Kaleb Horn, Sam [Wapato], Darin [Whiteman], Trevor McCraigie had a great game. Hunter caught one. We had a bunch of people contribute. That was really great."

The 3-0 Raiders have a bye week this week, and will play again on Friday, Sept. 28, at home in Coulee Dam against the Kettle Falls Bulldogs, with kickoff slated for 7 p.m.
