Matthew J. Vincent, 78, of Grand Coulee, Washington, formerly of Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away Monday, January 29, 2018, after a short battle with cancer.

After graduating from South High School Minneapolis in 1957, Matt joined the Army, servicing three years. In April 1962, Matt joined the Minneapolis Police Department. During his 27 years of proud, distinguished service, he received numerous commendations and the rare privilege of being awarded both the Medal of Honor and the Medal of Valor.

Matt and his wife, Dorothy, formed their photography business, Home Craft Studios, in 1965. They had a baby club of 500 members and also took wedding pictures. Retiring in May of 1989, Matt and Dorothy eventually moved to Grand Coulee, enjoying great fishing and hunting, wonderful family, friends, church and the house he built.

Preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Vincent Walters, and parents, Ernest and Margaret Vincent, he is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy; sons: David (Ani), Daniel (Lynn), and Larry; grandchildren: Josiah, David, Netanya, Emily (Jeremy) Zinnel, and Alex, Kiya, Kelsie, Katie (Adam) Lucey; great-grandchildren: Jacob and Judah Zinnel, Amelia and Joanna Lucey; brother, Jerry, of Colorado; sisters: Rose Mary Anderson of Texas, and Dodi Richter of Minnesota.

Burial will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on Friday, February 16, at 1:45 p.m. A memorial service celebrating Matt's life will be held Saturday, March 10, at 15001 Burnhaven Dr., Burnsville, Minnesota, from 1 to 4 p.m.
