The Lake Roosevelt Lady Raiders defeated both Waterville and Soap Lake last week to finish the regular season with an 11-5 league record, 11-9 overall. However the ladies are ranked only fifth in the tight Central Washington 2B league standings, but will still move on to district play.

Hosting the Waterville Lady Shockers Thursday, the Lady Raiders won 55-40.

"Our game with Waterville was a good team effort," Head Coach Wallace Pleasants said. "Waterville is a well-coached team that makes you work for and earn everything you get. We especially had big games from Kelsie Olbricht, Olivia Ludwig and Shantana Pakootas."

Olivia Ludwig led the Lady Raiders with 11 points.

The Soap Lake Lady Eagles visited Coulee Dam on Saturday, and the Lady Raiders defeated them 45-37 in a comeback victory.

Soap Lake led 19-14 at the half, and LR came back in the fourth quarter, scoring 17 points while holding the Lady Eagles to seven.

"A good come-from-behind win for us," Pleasants said.

Khani Priest led the Lady Raiders against Soap Lake with 12 points.

Brewster, with a league record of 15-1, took the first-place seed in the league, while the 12-4 Liberty Bell team took second. Waterville and Tonasket, both 11-5, took the third and fourth seeds.

Kelsie Olbricht prepares to pass over Lady Shockers.

LR also had an 11-5 record, but in the event of tie records at the end of the season, the first determinant factor in seeding for districts is who beat whom during the regular season. LR split their games with both Waterville and Tonasket, winning one of two against each of them.

A number draw among the coaches before the regular season breaks ties in such a situation.

Placing fifth means the Lady Raiders will play Walla Walla Valley Academy, the number-four seed from the 2B Eastern Washington league, at 12:30 p.m. in Granger on Friday, Feb. 9.

The loser of that game will be eliminated, and the winner will play number-one seed Brewster, fresh off a bye, at 6 p.m. on Feb. 10.
