The “Lighting of the Library” was a big success again this year, with Santa arriving compliments of the Grand Coulee Volunteer Fire Department and the children all lighting glow sticks to welcome Santa.
As the children were greeted by Santa and each given a coloring book, Christmas carols were sung, cookies provided by the library board were consumed, and drawings for door prizes held.
Coulee Dam Federal Credit Union donated $50 gift cards won by Jason Olsen and Brian Clark; and $25 gift cards, won by Scotty Flannery, Janet Williams, Shaden Capshaw and Oden Olsen.
Changes gift certificates were won by Adam Florenzen and Lee Seekins. A Coulee Massage gift certificate was won by Danielle Florenzen.
A stuffed bear donated by Fawn Brashears was won by Bobby Desautel. A cheerleader doll donated by Pepper Jacks was won by Lily Hendricks.
A large Pooh basket donated by Sweet Olive Tree won by Emmaline Piturachsatit and a decorative bear donated by Loepps was won by Jim Berry.
A dinner for two donated by Siam Palace was won by Liz Peasley. Thomas Lewis won a movie basket donated by Joyce DeChenne.
Three miscellaneous toy bags, donated by Safeway, were won by Greg Chenney, Amya Adrian and Robert Michel.
A Seahawks scarf and cap donated by the Moose Lodge was won by Elizabeth Piturachsatit.
The generosity of the community is greatly appreciated by the library board.
