    Tom and Kathy Skordas, of Coulee Dam, Washington, are celebrating their 55th wedding anniversary December 5. The couple were wed in Salt Lake City, Utah, on December 5, 1960. They lived in the coulee since 1967 when Tom began his career with the United States Bureau of Reclamation, retiring in 1995.     Richard and Lucy Carpenter recently celebrated their Golden Anniversary on a Honolulu, Hawaii vacation, including a cruise to many other islands and Maui. Richard and Lucy (Haydock) were united in marriage at the First Christian Church in Bremerton, Washington in 1965. The couple has made their home in the Grand Coulee area since 1985.   • Mansker awarded scholarship

    Alissa Mansker, Grand Coulee, has been awarded a $500 scholarship by the Royal Neighbors Foundation. A one-time payment will be made to her college of choice and will be used to help fund tuition, room and board, and books. Since its creation in 1961, the Royal Neighbors of America Scholarship Program has awarded more than $4 million to its members to assist with the costs of continuing education.     Electric City Councilmember Brad Parrish caught this monster king salmon in the Columbia River near Richland. His grandson, Isaiah Parrish from Spokane, is holding it for the picture. The only scales available topped out at 40 pounds. The scale quickly dropped to the peg, so Brad says it must have weighed over 40 pounds.     Geraldine Booth became the bride of Don McClure on September 4, 1949, at the Methodist Church in Nespelem. They have ranched on the McClure ranch near Nespelem. Part of the ranch was homesteaded by Don's grandfather William McClure and Don's father Robert McClure, in 1918.
