Grant PUD’s wholesale fiber network is on pace to bring in more than $12.5 million in revenue this year, which will help ensure that the utility’s covers the cost of operating the expanding network. Terry McKenzie, Senior Manager of Grant PUD Fiber, provided that information in a quarterly fiber update to commissioners on July 12. The two NCW Libraries community bookmobiles have added new stops this summer to bring library services to more people across North Central Washington. They are now visiting the Malaga Market and Valley Hi in Chelan County, Crescent Bar and Colockum Ridge Golf Course in Grant County, Brewster Boys & Girls Club and Nespelem in Okanogan County, and Inchelium and Keller in Ferry County. Grand Coulee Police 7/19 - A woman was banned from a Goodfellow Avenue location where she had allegedly broken into an RV parked there where police found some of her belongings and drug-related items that they collected to be destroyed. The owner of the RV didn’t wish to press charges but noted an ongoing issue of having to kick people out of the property. A separate “camper trailer” on the property, owned by someone else, had also been broken into. Police were waiting to talk to the owner to learn if they wanted to press charges. Two days...
The Ridge Riders have been busy preparing the rodeo grounds for the annual Ridge Riders Jr. Rodeo July 23-24. There can be anywhere from 125-250 kids aging from 5 to 19 years of age with their families in town for the weekend. There are currently entries from as far away as Gig Harbor, Whitefish, Montana, and Mt. Vernon, Wa. The Ridge Riders have 55 buckles going to first place winners with cash pay outs going for 2nd, 3rd and 4th places and 9 overall All Around Awards to each age division.... Full story

Grand Coulee Police 7/9 - A woman explained to police that when a deer jumped onto SR-155 near the top of the Grand Coulee Dam she swerved to avoid the deer and hit a light pole. Police observed the damage to the light pole, a street sign, and her vehicle, which was towed to an impound yard in Moses Lake. 7/12 - A woman was caught paying for one item, but not another, at the hardware store in Grand Coulee. She was confronted by police at her residence in Electric City. Eventually, her mother paid for the stolen item, a $100 kitchen faucet....
