A whole lot of things are happening Saturday, Oct. 13, during the chamber of commerce’s new Coulee Fall Festival. Free hayrides are planned behind a horse-drawn wagon. Another highlight will be a pet parade down Midway Avenue. Chamber Secretary Debbie Starkey said those bringing pets are asked to wear a costume to make the event more colorful. I would like to thank all our fire fighters. My daughters are married to volunteer fire fighters who live in Waterville, and I know what they go through. He was reached near Martin Road and told the officer that did indeed want to kill himself because of stress and said he was just putting his plan together. A Grand Coulee woman was struck by a truck Friday while walking on Alcan Road and flown by helicopter to Spokane for treatment, but may face drug charges when she returns. The truck was driven by Wayne Fowler, 58, who said that Angelette Joy Obendorf, 33, was talking on a cell phone and just stepped in front of his vehicle on the “s curves” on Alcan Road. Larry W. Hall, Sr., 69, of Electric City, peacefully passed away Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. Larry was born on October 3, 1942, to Ruby and Ernest Hall of Omak, Wash. Larry entered the Navy in 1959 and rose to the rank of Lt. Commander before retiring after 22 years of service. Grand Coulee 8/16 - Police found a large white fluffy dog loose on Burdin Boulevard. The dog was taken to the veterinary clinic and later picked up by its owner. 8/17 - A Grand Coulee man was cited for reckless driving and hit and run when the vehicle he was driving left the road on “A” Street and crashed into a utility pole. Three people were pulled from the water in Lake Roosevelt between Crescent Bay and Eden Harbor last Wednesday evening after their boat had capsized. When word of the incident reached boaters at Spring Canyon, Javier P. Baca from New Mexico, took off in his boat to try to locate the capsized boat.
