Carol Elaine Vaughn

Carol Elaine Vaughn passed away peacefully July 5, 2026 in Chico, California with family by her side. She was 90 years old. Born August 27, 1935 in Seattle, Washington to Carl S. and June Yowell. She was an only child. Carol attended Seattle schools and graduated from high school in 1952. While in high school she contracted tuberculosis and was sent to a sanitarium for isolation and treatment. It was there where she met and married Gary Bundlie. They had three children together, Steven Bundlie (Deana), Cindi (Bill Hullett) and Kendell Jackson. In 1962 she married Bob (Sonny) Vaughn. As a family they moved to Grand Coulee in 1967.

Carol was a devoted, loving wife and mother. She had a heart of gold, never complained and was a loving friend to all. In the late 1970's, she worked at Button's Jewelers which she enjoyed very much! It was then that her caring kindness lead her to nursing school and soon became a Registered Nurse. She worked at Coulee Community Hospital for many years before retiring. During this time she was also the church camp nurse, devoting her time to children. Her true compassion was her unwavering faith and devotion to our lord and savior. She brought love, strength and comfort to those who knew her.

After visiting family in Chico, California over several years she decided to move there in 2012. She joined the Community Church and many activity clubs. She will be deeply missed with countless memories and the love she leaves behind.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bob (Sonny) Vaughn and parents Carl and June Yowell. In addition to her 3 children, she is survived by 7 grandchildren; Jasmine, Stevie, Matthew, Michael, Mindi, Charles (Charley) and Nathaniel, plus 11 great grandchildren!
