Coulee Dam Police

7/6 - A possible fire in a River Drive back yard turned out to just be a grill in use. The case was closed. The brats were allegedly delicious. No burgers were reported burnt in the incident. 

7/7 - A man was reported as suspicious for sitting on a concrete slab at a trailer park on Grand Avenue in Electric City. He told an officer he was practicing for the game. The officer asked him what game he was practicing for, and he just said “the game.” The man wasn’t trespassing so the officer told him he could stay, but if the owner asked that he be removed he’d have to go. The man said he would just be there for five more minutes. The officer left.

7/9 - A man on Yucca Street who was seemingly in distress and intoxicated requested to go to the hospital. Police assisted by contacting an ambulance and helped him into it.

7/10 - Police went to Hillcrest Avenue because of an iPhone collision notification. Apparently someone had been upset and had thrown their phone, causing the phone to send out a notification. No one was injured in the collision.

- Police didn’t see a male reported to have been stumbling in the area near the Columbia River Inn.

Grand Coulee Police

7/7 - While waiting to turn off Grand Coulee Avenue toward Spokane Way a “We the People” bus and Kia sedan were in an accident. The driver of one vehicle said the sun was in her eyes when she rear ended the vehicle waiting to turn. No one was injured.

7/9 - Dispatch reported that a man reported he had been chased by another man with a stick, and that man had previously stabbed a person. The police report notes that the officer was aware of the previous stabbing but that Coulee Dam Police were handling that case. Coulee Dam Police told The Star that that case was still under investigation.

7/11 - A Grand Coulee man was arrested for assault and taken to jail after allegedly forcing his way into his roommate’s room and biting his stomach while wielding a curtain rod and looking for his camera. A related report says the roommate was possibly in possession of the man’s wallet.

7/12 - A Banks Avenue resident reported a vehicle driven by a brunette playing loud music had hit a metal mail box and a parked Chevy Cruze before heading off towards the rodeo grounds. The mailbox was smashed and unusable. The Cruze had moved from its parked position several feet and into a parked travel trailer showing damage to the front as well as the back. Broken pieces from the suspect vehicle were found to belong to a Lexus. Police told the resident they’d be provided with a report and police would attempt to locate the suspect vehicle.
