Keith Eric Blankenship, 57, died by suicide at his home in Coulee Dam, WA on the morning of June 16, 2026.
He fought for years to cope with the trauma of severe childhood abuse, but he was in so much pain he couldn't see all of the love around him making a future possible.
He was born January 28, 1969 in Newton, Kansas and graduated from Sublette (KS) High School before enlisting in the Navy. He earned a degree in Food Service Management at UM in Missoula, was a country club manager, construction worker, fire camp cook, handyman, and most recently a transit bus driver.
He will be remembered for his giant heart, sharp sense of humor, limitless movie trivia knowledge and fantastic hugs. He had a huge heart and complex mind.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, April; daughter Katie and grandsons Bronson and Colt in his home state of Kansas; his emotional support dog Ethel; family in Idaho and the Midwest including his favorite cousin James; and many friends who came through his life.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no services. If you wish to make a donation in his memory, please choose your favorite animal shelter.
