Rex Norman Chamberlain

Rex Norman Chamberlain, 89, of Grand Coulee, Washington, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2025, following a short illness.

Born in Rupert, Idaho on October 21, 1935, Rex was raised in a large, loving family. It was in Rupert that he met his future wife Lou at a local roller-skating rink. They shared 63 years of marriage before her passing.

Rex served in the US Army before beginning a career in construction. He briefly worked in mining before becoming a respected Surveyor and Master Carpenter, contributing to dam projects across the northwest. His work ultimately brought him to the Grand Coulee Dam, where he left a lasting mark with his skill and dedication.

He enjoyed bowling, playing pinochle, and spending time with his family. Known for his steady hands, strong heart, and giving nature, Rex touched many lives with his quiet strength and care.

He is survived by his children: Kathy (Jim) Thayer, Jeannie (Brian) Walsh, and Robert (Anita) Chamberlain; eight grandchildren; And eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lou, daughter Terry Chamberlain, and grandson Tony Kintner.

A memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to a favorite charity in Rex's honor.
