Thailand’s golden Buddha is visible for all to see.

It was scrubbed and revealed for the first time in the mid-1950’s after being hidden for over 200 years.

The Thais hid the golden Buddha with a coat of stucco to hide its allure so it wouldn’t be stolen. The golden statue weighs over five tons and is approachable. I saw it when I was there a half century ago.
