Steven Wesley Carlson, long time resident of Grand Coulee, passed away on June 14, 2025.

Steve was born in Colfax, Wa on February 6, 1945 to Loney Floyd (Bus) and Marjorie Carlson. The family moved to Grand Coulee in 1947 where Steve would attend all 12 years of school.

After graduation, Steve attended 2 years at Wenatchee Jr. College and then served 2 years in the army. He then attended Central Washington University for 2 years.

Throughout his life, Steve was very involved in sports and cars. He excelled in high school basketball, and later in life, he coached PeeWee basketball. He was also an avid fan of WSU and Gonzaga Basketball.

Since his dad owned a car dealership, Steve learned early the mechanics of cars, and one of his earliest jobs was as a service station manager. Later in life, Steve would put his driving skills to work as a service oiler, concrete driver, a school bus driver and his favorite job, driving for the DOT.

In 1973, Steve married Nancy Lynne Crampton, and they had 2 children: Brian Wesley and Alicia Lynne. He was a great Father who seldom missed any of their school events.

In his lifetime, Steve enjoyed many sports events: The Indy 500, The Iditarod in Alaska, 4 decades of WSU Football, Yankee Baseball in both the old and new stadiums, Gonzaga basketball games and more. He and Nancy also traveled extensively as far away as China, Peru, Romania, Ireland, all Western Europe and many US States.

Steve found a home at the Grand Coulee Community Church where he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. We all know he is keeping track of us in heaven, along with his faithful dog, Pia, who proceeded him in death by 2 days.

Survivors include: wife, Nancy; children, Brian and Alicia; brother, Lon (Sheila); sister, Linda; nephew, David (Wren) and niece, Heather Suitt ( Michael ); and many cousins.
