Ridge Riders' rodeo, bull riding events to light up three nights

The Ridge Riders keep adding attractions to their events, including this year.

The Cleatis Lacy Memorial Bull Riding and Ranch Broncs happens Thursday night at 7 p.m., with a $5,000 added purse for the bull riders and another $1,000 for the ranch broncs.

Ranch bronc riders aim to stay mounted for eight seconds on a bucking horse using a standard working saddle and a bucking rein.

Then the hilarious Panty Pull will be back. You'll recognize a few of your favorite businessmen as they compete for the title of the fastest at getting a big four-legged critter dressed in panties. Let's see if Jess Ford can bring home the trophy again. Some other local teams are Sunbanks Resort, Billups Sub Shot, Loepps Furniture, MPH Bar & Grill and Les Schwab.

On Friday and Saturday, the 68th Annual Colorama PRCA Rodeo also kicks off at 7 p.m., a change this year.

It will feature all the regular rodeo events you expect, and because it's usually the first on the circuit in this part of the country, it draws a lot of cowboys and cowgirls to compete in bronc riding, team roping, chute dogging, barrel races and more.

And ...

• They'll have the all-time favorite Mutton Busting and Stick Horse Races sponsored by North 40, with eight riders a per day for Friday and Saturday performances.

• The Wild Card Trick Riders are back again. These four local young ladies from Coulee City, Grand Coulee, Moses Lake and Omak are now PRCA carded. They will be performing all three nights at the Ridge Rider Arena.

• The Northwest Renegade Cowgirls from Lynden, Washington are returning with their stunning drill team acts. This group of 12 dedicated women started this organization back in 2014 looking to simply perform drill together, "For the Love of Drill."  They enjoy the art of horsemanship and work to develop skills and confidence, leadership, and teamwork through the sport of drill. They'll perform all three nights at the arena. You will also see them in the Colorama Parade carrying the Ridge Riders Corporate Sponsor flags.
