Grand Coulee Police
2/8 - The driver of a Dodge Ram said he was at fault when making a left turn into Safeway and hitting a Ford F-350 owned by the Washington State Department of Transportation. The driver said he had not been paying proper attention and had been suffering from a headache. He was cited for failure to yield as well as for driving without insurance. He parked his vehicle illegally in a handicap stall in the Safeway parking lot, saying he’d have it moved soon. The vehicle was still there a week later, however, and police contacted a tow company to impound it.
3/7 - A driver was pulled over on Midway Avenue for driving with a suspended license and cited for it. Another driver came to drive the vehicle away. The officer then realized the driver had been required to have an ignition interlock device but didn’t have one. The driver also faces a charge for that.
Coulee Dam Police
3/2 - A person at the casino reported the theft of their cell phone. The case was forwarded to tribal police. The Coulee Dam officer later learned the the phone had been returned.
3/3 - A report was filed for a vehicle prowl/theft from a vehicle on River Drive with further details not included in the report.
3/4 - An incident was documented in which a woman on Grand Street was approached by another woman who told her she owed money for utilities and was going to get kicked out of her residence.
3/5 - A Camas Street man lost about $500 to an online scam via unauthorized transfers made through Zelle, a money transferring app. There was little the police could do to help with the situation. The information was passed along to Adult Protective Services who had originally requested police check on the situation.
- A Spruce Street dog got out of its yard and attacked a neighbor’s dog that suffered gashes in the paw area. The owner said the dog would be taken to the vet for evaluation. The case was passed on to tribal police as the attacking dog’s owner is a tribal member on the reservation. The Coulee Dam officer learned that the dogs at that address have gotten out in the past and bitten people before.
3/8 - Police went to Tulip Street and Sixth Street where it was reported someone was sleeping on the ground. Police didn’t see anyone on the ground in the are
