Edward Raymond Fields

Edward Raymond Fields, beloved brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2024, at the age of 72 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Surrounded by his loving children, Ed left this world after a brave battle with cancer.

Born on October 3, 1952, in Spokane, Washington, Ed was the son of Betty and William Eugene "Gene" Fields. He grew up in the Grand Coulee area with his siblings Gene, Robert, and Sara. From an early age, Ed was known for his curiosity and love of adventure. As a boy, he enjoyed tinkering with vehicles, participating in Boy Scouts, and embarking on many road trips with his family. Ed graduated from Coulee Dam High School in 1971, ready to begin the next chapter of his life.

At the age of 20, Ed married Jan Scott, and together they had two children, Christopher and Jennifer. Though their marriage later ended, Ed's life was blessed again when he found the love of his life, Louise Irene Miller. Together, they built a life in Post Falls, Idaho, where they raised two more children, Ashley and Lucus.

Ed spent much of his career in the tech industry, contributing to the development of medical keyboards and similar innovations. He was proud of the work he did and the difference it made. Outside of his career, Ed had a deep passion for camping, antique hunting, hiking, attending rock concerts, and, most importantly, spending time with his family. He treasured his visits to his parents' home in Electric City, especially during special events and holidays with his extended family.

In 2021, Ed fell ill, but he was fortunate to receive care at home, thanks to the loving support of his two youngest children, Ashley and Lucus, and son-in-law, Jessy. His family provided him with comfort and care during his final years.

Ed was preceded in death by his partner, Louise, and his parents. He leaves behind his children, Christopher Fields, Jennifer Schuh (Travis), Ashley Matthews (Jessy), and Lucus Fields; five grandchildren, Timothy Fields, Marissa DeMore, Colten Clouter (Bailey), Christa Zielinski (Wyatt), and Elizabeth Schwartz; three great-grandchildren, Callie and Everly Clouter, and Jace Zielinski; as well as his siblings, Gene Fields, Robert Fields (Nina), and Sara Himebauch (Dan), as well as many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Ed's life will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at 1pm, at River City Lanes in Post Falls, Idaho. Food will be provided. Please RSVP by texting Ashley at (206) 818-2267 if you plan to attend.

Ed will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
