Four place at Apple Pie Invite
Lady Raider wrestlers dominated ACH in a home dual Thursday, winning 12-6.
At 170, Jahzara Simpson pinned Jayden Hubbard, and Selma Lewandowski also pinned Jayden Hubbard
At 140, ACH’s Karis Butler pinned Antya George-Cawston.
At 145, Ayamae Duclos (LROS) pinned Dayanna Mendoza.
Six Lady Raider wrestlers competed at Mary-Pilchuck’s Apple Pie Invite Jan. 18, with four placing.
Lake Roosevelt Freshman Abygail Vargas took second place in the 155-pound bracket when she pinned Okanogan’s Addison Brown, adding 10 points to the LR team score.
Cora Nicholson took third place at the 115-pound bracket, defeating Liberty Bell’s Mazie Gibb with a pin in 55 seconds and adding 9 points to the LR score.
At 100, Nelly Selam took fourth place for 4 team points, as did Ayamae Duclos at 145.
Addison Cannon, Jahzara Simpson, and Selma Lewandoski each competed but did not place. Cannon added 4 team points. Simpson added 4.5.
The total team score of 35.5 put Lake Roosevelt at seventh in the 12-team tourney. Tonasket, with 11 wrestlers, won with 110.5 points.
“He said for us to actually think about it, and maybe we want to re-annex those parcels back in at some point in the future, if we decide that we might want to pursue this.”
She said the city would have to propose the development to DNR.
