Ladies dominate week

The Lady Raiders extended their winning streak to 12 last night with a 3-0 win over Brewster at home.

They beat Tonasket three times, including April 18 in Tonasket ,12-5, and Saturday in Grand Coulee, 15-3 and 10-3. Manson was also in the losing mix, falling 15-0 in Grand Coulee on Thursday.

Aaliyah Marchand pitched both games Saturday, striking out 23 Tonasket batters, allowing 11 hits and four walks during the doubleheader.

Marchand's grand slam in the first game counted for four runners batted in. And she had five Six other Lady Raiders contributed hits in the second game, bringing in six runners. In the first game, eight other LR players hit for four RBIs.

"Our young players, LaMiyah Gentamenn (freshman) and Juel Swager (eighth-grader) have made tremendous gains ... and I'm proud of them," commented Coach Jaci Gross.

Gross also noted a big thank you was due to Paul Bowden and the Coulee Dam Police for serving players and parents lunch on Saturday. "They do it every year to show support of our team, and we really appreciate it."
