Gregory James Peters

Gregory James Peters, 68, our great fisherman was taken from us on February 25, 2023, after an 18-month battle with ALS. Greg was 68 years old when he passed at the VA Assisted Living location in Spokane, Washington. He was born in Spokane on January 31, 1955 where he was raised by his late mom, JoAnn Peters and dad, Lee Peters. Greg was the oldest of four children. He was a graduate from East Valley High School and accomplished the rank of Eagle Scout. Greg continued his education later in life and graduated from Big Bend Community College with a degree in Computer Science.

Upon his return from the Navy, Greg worked for Grand Coulee Dam. After leaving the dam, Greg moved to the Colville Indian Agency where he retired as the Head of the Federal Computer Department.

Greg married Sue on December 23, 1991 and became the stepfather to two beautiful daughters.

Greg had many interests that kept him busy. He was an avid fisherman who relished in taking his family and friends fishing. He was also a very accomplished guitar player, using his talent in a band where his wife, Sue, was the main soloist. In the summer when you would visit Greg and Sue, Greg would have his yard and gardens manicured. Not a blade of grass was out of place or could you find a weed in his flower or vegetable gardens.

Greg is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sue Peters, Grand Coulee, Washington; stepdaughters, Nikki Graves and Steve, Elmer City, Washington and Hope Irvin and Dan, Tacoma, Washington; his dad, Lee Peters, Liberty Lake, Washington; brother, Doug Peters and Connie, Kalispell, Montana; sisters, LeeAnn Jacot and Neil, Liberty Lake, Washington and Jodi Hendrex and Erik from Post Falls, Idaho. He is also survived by five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at 2pm on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Yates Funeral Home, 373 E Hayden Ave, Hayden, Idaho, 83835. Reception will follow the service.
