Two points are so inefficient. So, Aaliyah Marchand increased her scoring efficiency by 50 percent per basket, hitting all seven from beyond the three-point line to lead the Lady Raiders in scoring against Okanogan last week with 21 - to match her jersey number.

One of the team's most physical players under the basket, she got nothing 'neath the net, which may have been the Bulldogs' plan, but no matter. The Lady Raiders' only senior showed her versatility, proving the point with long-range missiles.

Despite the work, Lake Roosevelt suffered a 91-46 loss in the game, spurring improvements.

They beat Liberty Bell 87-66 Friday night on the Mountain Lions' home court, then last night treated Tonasket to a 59-48 defeat in Coulee Dam in front of full home gym Jan. 31 on senior night, honoring Marchand.

"We're so, so proud of her for dedicating herself to LR," said Coach Melissa Meza after the senior night win. "She has worked so hard to be a good leader on this team, and we appreciate that very, very much."

Meza said the team strived to "make good passes and talk on defense. We executed those two things, and that's what we needed to do to win this game."

The Lady Raiders finish the regular season at third in the league with a 6-3 win-loss record, 13-7 overall.

They'll now move into the District 6 Girls Basketball tournament, starting with a game at Lake Roosevelt Friday night at 6 p.m. against whichever team ends up as the sixth seed after last night's and other games.
