Auditions for the musical “SING ON” will be held on Friday January 6 at 6 p.m. and Saturday January 7 at 1:00 p.m. Masquers Theater is located at 322 E Main St., Soap Lake WA.

SING ON is a play about a musical. Written by Rick Abbot, it brings us a crazy playwright, Phyllis Montague, who wishes to become a “Bess Booster”. According to Phyllis, Bess Boosters are folks around the world who feel Queen Elizabeth I was completely misunderstood by historians. She and a family member have written a musical as their entry into the contest to become Bess Boosters. She entices her theater group to perform the musical with the prize money awarded by the Boosters organization. The theater group knows Phyllis is nuts because they have done her plays before but a chance at the prize money is too much to pass up. There are 11 characters: 5 which can be male or female, and 6 which are specifically male (3) or female (3). Cast Age ranges from 18 to 60+. The music numbers are tunes you will have heard before: I Dream of Jeannie, Camptown Races, and a few more.

Production dates are April 14 – April 30, Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday matinees. Carol Boyce is directing. If any questions contact the theater at 246-2611, leave your name and number.
