NCW Libraries is aware that some of our library patrons have been contacted by a phone scam impersonating their local library. Please note that NCW Libraries, all 30 of its branches, bookmobiles, and Mail Order library, neverpersonally call patrons to collect library fees for lost and damaged material, or to discuss personal account information.

NCW Libraries does make automated calls to inform patrons that their library materials are ready for pick up, or that materials are overdue. These automated calls are used only if a patron has selected phone notices as their preferred communication method.

Phone scams like this are not uncommon and do not indicate any breach of NCW Libraries’ customer data. If you receive or have received a call of this nature please file a report with the FTC at https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/#/assistant.
