Grand Coulee

Police

1/24 - A woman agreed to leave her residence on Spokane Boulevard to avoid further conflict following an argument with the man who lives there. The man also asked police about the process of evicting someone.

- A Pearl Avenue woman reported two pairs of binoculars valued at about $100 and a $200 sleeping bag taken from her vehicle, which she said she must have left unlocked since there was no forced entry detected.

1/25 - A Dill Avenue man reported a man had banged on his son’s car when they both arrived at the area at the same time. He just wanted the incident documented.

- A Coulee Dam man reported that he had been expecting a $1,000 check in the mail, but when it never arrived the sender told him it had already been cashed at North Cascades Bank. The bank refused to help police review security footage or otherwise determine who cashed the check without a search warrant, due to the victim not being a bank customer.

1/26 - A woman who bothers customers in line at Café Espresso was banned from the cafe.

1/28 - A woman reported that a Cardinal Road man had put new tires on her car and done other work that she did not ask him to do, then required payment before he’d give the vehicle back. The vehicle isn’t registered to the woman. She told police she would get the registered owner to talk to them, otherwise they can’t do anything.

- A state Labor & Industries employee reported being threatened by a Lakeview Terrace resident who said he would come to Olympia to “crack some skulls” if he didn’t get his check. Police told the employee they would need to contact Lincoln County police on the issue.

- Police responded to a woman yelling outside the Trailwest Motel. She appeared to be on drugs. The county jail wouldn’t book the woman, although she was wanted on arrest warrants. Police told her they would return if she was reported again. She later pulled a fire alarm at the Continental Heights apartments before fleeing, as was shown on security footage. The manager wishes to press charges because of the alarm waking people up, and the woman faces a charge of causing a false alarm from tampering with a fire alarm.

1/29 - A man reported a catalytic converter cut and stolen from his motor home on 3rd Street. He wanted the incident documented for his insurance company.

- A woman on Roosevelt Drive thanked police for responding to an alarm at her home, which she had set off herself accidentally.

- A woman reported her Dodge Ram pickup stolen from her property on the Bridgeport Highway. Moses Lake police told Grand Coulee police that the vehicle had been impounded the night before after it had been used there in an attempt to steal a trailer. The suspects in that theft ran off after being confronted by the trailer owner.

1/30 - A Hill Avenue woman reported being “football tackled” by a man her boyfriend was drinking with. She showed police a red mark on her elbow and said that her head hurt from the incident. The man faces a fourth-degree assault charge.

1/31 - Police received a phone call that an unstable man police are familiar with was sobbing in the Electric City Post Office lobby. Police saw him walking on Coulee Boulevard and spoke to him. He said he hadn’t been crying but was upset that his shoe had gotten wet.

- A woman on A Street reported someone entering her car and taking items, including her daughter’s wallet and prescription medicine, with an estimated value of $200.

- Police didn’t find anything on Kelso Avenue where shots reportedly had been fired.

Coulee Dam

Police

1/28 - A black SUV was reported pulling out in front of other traffic on River Drive from the Rio Grande parking lot, and then an M-80 firework going off in the parking lot. Police were unable to locate the SUV.
