Raider football dominates Tigers

The Raiders celebrated homecoming week with a solid win against the Tonasket Tigers in Coulee Dam Friday with a final score of 41-16.

The win, which came after Lake Roosevelt dominated each quarter, sets LR with a 3-3 win-loss record so far in the season.

The Raiders led 28-0 at the end of the first quarter and 34-0 at the half.

Tonasket hoped to capitalize on a Raider fumble at the Tigers' 49-yard line early in the second quarter. But the Raider defense held Tonasket nearly still, forcing a turnover on downs at the 46, then ran a touchdown in two plays.

The Raiders came off the bench in the third quarter. Three minutes into it, Raider Chase Clark ran the ball into the endzone. An extra point put the Raiders' final score at 41.

Tonasket scored its 16 points after that, with Tonasket's Cris Rodriguez adding most of the Tiger yardage in the game.

The Raiders' next game is scheduled for Oct. 22 in Manson against the Trojans at 7 p.m.
