Pastor Bob Phillips, 72, minister and member of the Cherokee Nation of Tahlequah, OK, met his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ face to face, Friday morning, July 23, 2021, from Spokane, Washington. Bob was born Saturday, March 12, 1949, to Job & Eva Sunday-Phillips in Porum, Oklahoma. A 1969 graduate of Porum High School, Bob went on to graduate from Baptist Bible College, Springfield, Missouri. In November of 1976, Bob married Charlene Drywater, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the New Life Indian Baptist Church.

As Pastor of "Way of The Cross Indian Baptist Church" in Nespelem, Washington, Bob lived to care for the needs of his congregation and the entire Confederated Tribes of The Colville Reservation community. Bob was a faithful and vocal fan of the OU Schooners and Denver Broncos, enjoyed time in the out-of-doors – playing golf, bow hunting, camping, fishing and time spent at home in his easy chair "just...resting his eyes."

Preceded in death by his beloved wife and partner in ministry of 43 years: Charlene Phillips and his daughter: Marissa "Missy" Joy Rogers; Bob's legacy lives on through his son: Robert Phillips (Whitney); daughter: Sarah Bartholomew (Chris); grandchildren: Daniel Lickfold, Kaitlyn Lickfold, Jolie Lickfold, Aston Rogers, JoJo Cavasos, Kanaan Rogers, Alex Phillips and River Phillips; sister: Betty Phillips; niece: Tarra and nephews: Darrin and Derrick.

His family asks that any donations be made in Bob's memory to "Way of the Cross Indian Baptist Church," c/o PO Box 431, Nespelem, WA 99155-0431

Bob's funeral will begin at 1:00pm on Friday, August 6, 2021 at the Nespelem Community Center in Nespelem, Washington. Burial will follow at the Little Nespelem Cemetery in Nespelem, Washington.
